At present, she is an Associate Editor of Simply Haiku, former Editor of The Haiku Society of America Newsletter, and Vice President of the Tanka Society of America. She writes haiku and senryu in Spanish as well as English, and renku she has participated in have been translated into Japanese, French, and Bulgarian. Her haiku, senryu, haibun, renku, tanka, and book reviews have been published in bottle rockets, Simply Haiku, World Haiku Review, Haiku Ireland, and in anthologies published by The Haiku Society of America, Haiku North America, The Tanka Society of America, Red Moon Press and Modern English Tanka Press. Johnye Strickland is Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (USA). She has been studying haiku and renku since 2001.
