Edward J. Rielly
photographs
in mother's album
my big brother!
already I have doubled
his far too-short life
blood drive:
I count all things
that are red
the most important
flows within, out of, me
an English professor
finds Wordsworth alive
on a dirt road
the old man in a straw hat
gathering soda cans
writing about love
my student finds
that five lines
just about do it
for her ex-boyfriend
Edward J. Rielly teaches in the English Department at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. His most recent publications are Old Whitman Loved Baseball and Other Baseball Poems (Moon Pie Press), Sitting Bull: A Biography (Greenwood), and Murder 101: Essays on the Teaching of Detective Fiction (McFarland).
