HAIKU

Francis W. Alexander

frigid day
meat loaf scent wafting
from the oven

  humid day
slowly slurping and sucking
the grape Popsicle

the fan's hot air blasts
yearning for her email
still another day

  first days of winter
the assembling of geese
in the driveway

sunset
a dead fish floating
from crest to crest
