HAIKU

Francis W. Alexander

winter morning
only the fresh smell
of coffee beans

  warm winter's day
a fly suddenly appears
when the onions fry

glazed ham —
a strong wind carving
the fresh coat of snow

  fog
long after our goodbyes
his ghost story lingers

rain shower
wafting from the old bottle
a scent of cologne

Francis W. Alexander lives in Sandusky, Ohio. His haiku and haibun have appeared in Simply Haiku, Heron's Nest, Contemporary Haibun Online, Stylus, Treetops, and Mainichi Daily News, to name a few.
