HAIKU

Ann K. Schwader

her fingertips
brush the lilacs
spring dusk

  mud season
the cow elk's tracks
deeper

the rattle
of seed packets
early thaw

  solstice
a raspberry bursts
on my tongue

early snow
my mother starts
a ninth decade

Ann K. Schwader lives and writes in Westminster, Colorado. Her haiku have appeared in big sky, Modern Haiku, Heron's Nest, Frogpond, bottle rockets, Simply Haiku, Roadrunner, and elsewhere.
