HAIKU
C. Avery
|
moonrise
chasing off the squall--
the pole star |
|
| |
|
| |
above all the traffic
starlings whistle
back and forth |
| |
|
sheltering a run-away
the stone wall
overgrown in honeysuckle |
|
| |
|
| |
from the one leaf
still floating
perfect circles |
|
|
giant bamboo
groaning in the gully . . .
a moonless night |
|
| |
|
C. Avery lives on the Big Island of Hawaii, having recently moved to the Hilo side from the Kona side. Avery, a practicing astrologer, enjoys the challenges of learning HTML, mounting a photo website, and writing haiku.
