gabbiano ~ haiga

gabbiano Fernando lembo di Pino was born in 1953 on the Amalfi Coast, true heart of the Mediterranean area, where he lives and works. He is a teacher of linguistics and language philosophy.

"Gabbiano" ("seagull", as he is generally known) has been painting, drawing and designing for more than thirty years. Several exhibitions of his work have been displayed both in Italy and in other countries. Besides paintings and drawings, gabbiano has also taken part in numerous collaborations in theater scenographies, in cartoons, and in collections of couture, jewellery, and design.

The text in gabbiano's work is written in the original Japanese, and later translated into English.

Gabbiano is a lay-member of the London ancient and exclusive Society of Scribes and Illuminators (SSI).
