the forest, fog crosses
the full road line |

windscreen wipers

Edin Saracevic was born in Ljubljana in 1964. He lives in Kranj. In
1991 he completed degrees in philosophy and comparative literature
at Ljubljana Philosophy University. Since 1994 he has worked as a
professor of philosophy at Gimnazija Vic in Ljubljana. He writes
aphorisms and haiku; he is a member of the Haiku Club of Slovenia
(HCS) and its secretary.
In 1998 he won the 3rd prize at the Apokalipsa Haiku Contest, in 2001
the 2nd prize at the International Haiku Contest in Kumamotu, Japan and the
prize for the best haiku cycle at Apokalipsa Haiku Contest in 2003. His
haiku and senryu have been published in Letni casi, the magazine of the HCS,
as well as in Apokalipsa, Green Apples, Mentor, Primorska srecanja,
Haiku novine (Serbia & Montenegro) and Frogpond (USA). His haiku have also

Candy in the Rain, issued in 2001, is his first haiku book. In 2001 he founded
and organized the 1st High School Haiku Contest in Slovenia that has been,
since then, running regularly every year.
