HAIKU

Lane Parker

winding road
the rising summer moon
weaves back and forth

  nature walk
a mockingbird answers
the bumped car

old pier
the rusted cry of gulls
at high tide

  spring equinox--
the chip in mother's
salt shaker

hotter than hell ...
a dust devil wanders
the vacant lot

Lane Parker was born in Southern California, and currently lives in San Francisco. His haiku and haibun have appeared in The Heron's Nest, South by Southeast, Mariposa, and Simply Haiku.
