An amateur photographer, she has been writing haiku since 1992. Her haiku has been published in Bulgaria and on-line literature sites. She has won prizes in contests in Bulgaria and World Haiku Association haiga contests. Photo-haiku and oil painted haiga are her current creative activities.

Detelina Tiholova was born in 1970 in the town of Dobrich, Bulgaria. She is a bachelor of art pedagogic specializing in textile and fashion design. At present she is working in applied art.
