HAIKU

Paula Fisher

jasmine
beneath the stars---
his blue eyes

spring stroll
the prissy pink polish
on poodle toes

pink ribbon
a hand to her chest
at each sunrise

shooting star...
she sings again
slightly off-key

thunderstorm---
the pit bull's face
in my armpit

Paula Fisher started writing haiku in Oct of 2003 as therapy for a stroke. She lives in the Florida Keys and is a single parent. She has had a few poems published (The Heron's Nest, Frogpond, Haiku Spirit) and one of her poems was awarded an "Honorable Mention" in the Japan/US 150 competition.
