HAIKU

Irene Golas

the dog's bark
runs away from it---
bitter cold

  snow falling...
a darker silence
in my father's room

first snow
the dog lifts her paws
higher

  cumulus clouds...
voices of berry pickers
drift across the field

hanging laundry:
she turns underwear
to hide the holes
