Junicho: Covered by the Wind

the snow is melting —
crows and river-gulls
search out the ooze

tomislav

a pair of butterflies
dance to unheard music

norman

pulling up the blinds
my eyes slowly adjust
to the light

tomislav

a few local beers
and he is fluent

norman
while weather vanes rust
a putrid stench
from no man's land
 norman

AIDS and syphilis
free to walk together

tomislav
summer lightning
and your muddy feet
against my thighs
norman

the sound of a hair-dryer
as he slips away

tomislav
what's that in the ice?
a poppy somehow frozen
in full bloom
norman

the dead poet's collection
covered by the wind

 tomislav
at first dusk
moon in the colours
of the walnut leaves
tomislav

a dragonfly lifts off
from my old straw hat
