HAIKU

Doreen King

still waters---
a fish, no a matchstick
stuck to the moon

indigo sky
she dips her paintbrush
into its colour
first daffodils ~
when did his trousers
become too short?

  harvest over
the stone's bowl
constantly full
winter respite ~
the sun warms
the stone dragon's fire

Doreen King is General Secretary of the British Haiku Society and the new editor for Time Haiku. She has published a number of haiku and other chapbooks and she will be launched as a new found poet by Iron Press shortly.
