Udo Wenzel was born in 1957 in Southern Germany. He had training as a bookseller, studied sociology in Hamburg, has had diverse odd-jobs. Since 1991 he has been a software-developer. He has lived in Hamburg since 1983, for several years at the east city-limit behind an old pond with frogs. Occasionally he has written poems and short stories for 30 years, daily. He has produced haiku and photo-haiku since 2002. He has published haiku, haiku-articles and poems in online-forums, guest-sites and anthologies, and he has experience in renku. He is a member of the German Haiku Society and of a virtual jury for a monthly Haiku-selection at www.haiku-heute.de (haiku-today).
