Haiku ~ Patricia Prime

warm air alley
searching through rubbish bins
the bag lady
  ploughed field
  at its furthest edge
red-hot pokers
over the paddock
a trail of hoof prints -
frosty morning
  cattle stop
  the city girl breaks
  a shoe heel
visitors gone
only the dishwasher's cycle
& the windchimes

Patricia Prime has published poetry, reviews and articles, and recently had her first story published in the USA. Currently, she is working on a series of interviews with poets and editors for publication in magazines and on the internet. Patricia is the author of a collection of verse, Accepting Summer, and editor of a New Zealand anthology of poetry, Something Between Breaths.
