Haiku ~ Marie Summers


March sunrise  
your gravestone still  
in snow  
  spring rain
  the field mouse waits
under a mushroom
goose feathers . . .  
summer heat rising  
off the lake  
  tiger lily . . .
  I count the freckles
  on her face
daylight savings –  
her free time spent  
in darkness  

Marie Summers resides in Excelsior Springs, Missouri where she is the webmistress of the popular poetry site,, as well as the contest coordinator for all competitions hosted there. She is, also, the chief editor of the SP Quill Quarterly Magazine, White Lotus Magazine, and Shadows Ink Publications.
