Haiku ~ J. J. Traxler

scattered showers spridda skurar
a preschool class disappears en förskoleklass försvinner
into the forest in i skogen
   
   
dusk  
tempting, a short cut skymning
across the quagmire lockande, genvägen
  över sumpmarken
   
cold drizzle kallt duggregn
counting the gulls räknar måsarna
above the oil tanker över oljetankern
   
   
cloth decals tygdekaler
on her rucksack -- på hennes ryggsäck --
the pilgrimage pilgrimsfärden
   
   
windswept morning -- vindpinad morgon --
mackerel scales makrillfjäll
on the fisherman´s hands på fiskarens händer
   
   
a fly en fluga
trimming its wings trimmar sina vingar
on the death mask på dödsmasken
   
   
early autumn-- tidig höst--
migratory birds above flyttfåglar över
the prison fängelset

J. J. Traxler was born in 1956 and raised in Lidköping, located in the South-West of Sweden.

He has been writing haiku since early 2001 and has been published in The Heron´s Nest, Ginyu Haiku, Mainichi Daily News. He was awarded Second Prize in the Kusamakura 9th International haiku competition, included in the newly published, first Swedish anthology with contemporary Swedish haiku poets.

Traxler has published two haiku books, together with Robert Wilson, Cherry Blossoms & Sakura, both released 2003. The books include the work of haiku poets from around the globe.
