Sasa Vazic

Choosing fish
at the winter market--
the seller's chapped hands
  Downstairs
  frightened by my own shadow--
Winter seclusion. winter night
Across the open book
a tiny bug crawls.
  dark afternoon . . .
kicking a stone down the path
guests gone-- with my winter shoe.
silence meets me
in every room.
