Robert D. Wilson is a 54 year old father of five. His wife, Gigie, is from the Philippines. They have a home in Northern California near Yosemite National Park, and another in the Philippines. He is a painter, haiga artist, and the author of a mystery novel entitled, Late For Mass.

He is a performing poet, who has read and performed his poetry on cable television, radio, college campuses, and in saloons. His book of haibun about the Vietnam War, Vietnam Ruminations, has been presented in a number of venues throughout the world.

Robert credits his father, the late Robert Wilson, with introducing him to haiku when he was a young boy. His father was an excellent poet who had a strong influence on his son. Vietnam Ruminations is dedicated to his Dad.

Wilson is a columnist for Teacher Librarian Magazine, coeditor and Illustrator of both Cherry Blossoms: A Book of Haiku and Sakura (River Man Publishing), and co-founder of the Mindprint Review Literary Journal.

Robert's work has been included in Ikuyo Yoshimura's college textbook, The Internationalization of Japanese Poems; the World Haiku Review, In Buddha's Temple. The Mindprint Review, the Union Democrat Newspaper, Nightingale, Midwest Poetry Review, Tempslibres (Free Times), Short Stuff, The San Fernando Poetry Journal, Foothill Peace Forum Newsletter, The Banner, Central Sierra Arts Council Newspaper, Haiku Poet's Hut, Waterblossoms, HaikuHarvest, Midnight Edition, Kusanohana Magazine, Acorn, Simply Haiku, Mainichi Daily News, The Writers' Hood, Acorn, Lynx, and many more.

He is the 2003 winner of the Hoshino Takashi Award, administered by the World Haiku Club. His haiga recently won first and third place in the World Haiku Association haiga contest for December 2003.
